Central America has been shaken by many damaging and strong earthquakes in historical times. The following table presents a list of events that occurred in Central America from 1516 to 2010, which were felt with intensities I ≥ VII MM (Mercalli Modified) or magnitudes Mw ≥ 7.0 (moment magnitude).
